The European Union Aviation Safety Agency has urged airlines to avoid Iranian and Iraqi airspace following the latest U.S. strikes on Iran. The warnings will remain in effect until August 31.
EASA decided not to extend its broader Conflict Zone Information Bulletin covering the Middle East and Gulf region. Instead, the agency issued a separate information note assessing the remaining medium-level risks across the wider region.
The agency also published separate country-specific Conflict Zone Information Bulletins for Iran, Iraq, and Lebanon, highlighting that high risks continue in these airspaces.
The previous advisory had also recommended that airlines exercise caution when operating in the airspace of Bahrain, Kuwait, Israel, Jordan, Qatar, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia.
EASA said the European Commission and EU member states will continue monitoring developments in the region and will issue new assessments if the risk level changes for European Union aircraft operators.
